While there is no discussion as to whether or not you should backup your data, there is the question of what kind of backup should you do. There are two general kinds of backups: image backups and file/folder backups. An image backup basically creates a mirror image of your computer (operating system, applications, documents, everything) at the time the backup is completed. A file/folder backup creates a copy of your documents. But the size and space requirements and time commitment required to complete a system image backup is definitely a consideration.
